We have decided to go ahead and host an Elementary Track and Field Day instead of the Elementary PE Fun Day on May 13th as this is the only day that works with the calendar. It will still begin at 11:30 and will be at the track. Some of the running events will need to run a little differently in order to keep our students safe. We will not have any relays this year. The 55, 100, 200, 400, and 55 Hurdles (6th grade only) will be the only races affected as we can run in lanes 1 and 2 for the 800 and the 1200. These races will run on the side of the track near the tennis courts. The 400 will start in the normal spot students will run to the scoreboard in their lanes and turn around and run back to where they started. With this being said we will not be keeping track of the records that are broken due to possibly not having the exact meter markings exactly right for those races and we will not have ribbons this year. If you would prefer to not have your child participate in the afternoon please let Mrs. Killion or the school office know. This is a fun event that the students look forward to every year and Mrs. Killion puts a lot of time into this event. Please feel free to bring along your lawn chairs if you would like to sit next to the fence by the tennis courts and ball fields during the day. Thank you for your cooperation in trying to have a successful day for our students this year.
