Yesterday this amazing group of teachers had the opportunity to do some ACT Prep training with Bill Hanus. He is a master test taker and ACT Prep guru and teacher for Lincoln Pius. This group of teachers worked with him and did a bunch of planning to prepare to help our kids reach their ACT potential! We are sure lucky to have all these l teachers on our team working with our kids!!

Congratulations to Elm Creek JH/HS Business teacher Mrs. Keep!!! Mrs. Keep has completed BizInnovator Startup Teacher Certification, meaning she now has the skills to infuse innovation and the entrepreneurial mindset into her classroom. In addition, BizInnovator Startup Certification means Elm Creek may offer University of Iowa College of Business credit, ENTR:1010 Exploring Entrepreneurship, to qualifying students. Students in Mrs. Keep's class can earn credit by demonstrating competencies through an end-of-course proficiency exam. This rigorous exam is aligned to University of Iowa Tippie College of Business standards. Great job Mrs. Keep! Thanks for doing extra to bring more opportunities to our students!!

I want to send a huge shoutout to our coaches. These folks are great to work with. We have spent this week at the Nebraska Coaches Association Coaches Clinic and working on stuff for our programs in Elm Creek. These people put in countless hours during the season, in the off-season, and in the summer. We sure appreciate all of you! Those that attended this week are Coach Shoff, Coach Schwarz, Coach Cavenee, Coach Fries, Coach Renee Bauer, Coach Olivia Anderson (Kitterman), Coach Jadyn High, Coach Jordan High, Coach Stolp, and Coach Jensen. Coach Stone ran the weight rooms while we are gone and we want to thank him. Again thank you for your dedication to our kids! We are glad you are on our team and love our kids.

Junior High sports practices (Volleyball, Football) will start on the first day of school August 10th for 7th & 8th graders. Practices will be during school hours....7th and 8th period. Cross Country runners will run after school with Coach Fries. We will send all Fall Sports Schedules out again early next week. The parents meeting, conditioning week, and start of fall practice before school starts is for High School students/parents only. Junior High students not participating in sports will have one hour of PE and then will be doing interventions and reading the last hour of the day. They will not be required to participate in sports if they do not want to. If you have any questions please let us know.
