Fall Sports practices started today across the state. Your Buffaloes all got in some great work preparing for the opener. We can't wait!!! Go Buffs!!
Huge shoutout to all these members of the football team and their coaches. They helped us move the new weight rooming flooring up to the weight room today. It is super heavy and there was a lot of it. We couldn't have done it without them. Also thank you Nate for getting those 400 pound rolls to the roof for us, and Josh for coordinating it all! We sure have great kids and people in this community and we are thankful for it!!
We received professional development last week to prepare for our new reading series! Elementary teachers are excited and ready to roll it out! We can't wait to see you all soon!
College readiness benchmarks are the minimum ACT score required for students to have a reasonable chance of success in first year subject college courses. Here are the benchmark scores ACT has set for college readiness. Elm Creek High School students will see and hear about these benchmarks at school as we strive to help our students reach these scores on the ACT. All 9th & 10th graders will be getting a little bit of ACT Prep and our 11th graders will be getting an hour devoted to meeting these benchmark scores. Last year our 11th graders scored .3 of a point a below the 2022 national average that was an average score of 19.8. Elm Creek's 2022-2023 junior class had an average score of 19.5. These students did a very good job and improved scores a lot throughout the year. We expect this years 11th grade to beat last years average score. So 11th graders get ready we are challenging you from day 1 to meet this standard and set a higher one as we continue to progress in this area at Elm Creek. We can do it if we all work together!
Remember the first official day of practice is Monday, August 7th. Athletes will not be allowed to practice without a completed physical. Please get those turned into the office as soon as possible. If you have questions let me know. GO BUFFS!

Yesterday this amazing group of teachers had the opportunity to do some ACT Prep training with Bill Hanus. He is a master test taker and ACT Prep guru and teacher for Lincoln Pius. This group of teachers worked with him and did a bunch of planning to prepare to help our kids reach their ACT potential! We are sure lucky to have all these teachers on our team working with Elm Creek students!!
Today is the last day of band camp. These kids have been working hard all week long!
