Dear Families,
This is just a quick reminder of our process when deciding to call a snow day and cancel school. I start with information from the National Weather Service, Weather Channel, and any other quality source of information. I also drive the roads to see for myself what the moisture, cold, and accumulation are doing to our country routes. My first goal is to always keep our students, staff and parents safe. My second goal is to communicate with you as early as possible. We will send out a message if there is a cancellation or late start using our Elm Creek App (sends a Text & Phone Call), Social Media, and the local media outlets. My hope is to try and announce a snow day the night before so families have time to make arrangements and prepare. I also try very hard to avoid late starts as I know this can create as many issues as simply canceling school.

Intro to Pre-Algebra is working on simplifying, adding, and subtracting linear expressions. They did a scavenger hunt around the room today for practice.

The JH Wrestling at Overton has been pushed back one hour. Weigh-ins will now be at 11:30 am and wrestling will start at 1 PM. If something else changes we will let you know. GO BUFFS!!

It’s been a great night of HS Basketball at the NCA Hall of Fame Jamboree. We have seen lots of great things from our teams and plenty to work in. We can’t wait for the opener!
We are working hard in 2nd grade to determine if words are nouns, verbs, or adjectives with the help of “Trashketball”! Students had to draw a card out of the tub with a word on it and tell the class if it was a verb, noun, or adjective! Then they got to crumble up the paper and throw it in the trash can to earn 1 point for their team. What a great way to review and work as a team!
The preschool students have been working with shapes and today they made circles.
Let’s GO!! Our play just started. It’s been amazing to watch this evolve and the hard work. Good luck….now time to watch!
